The man called officers on Monday, April 24, after he picked up his car from being serviced when he noticed his firearm was missing, and he believed someone at the station had taken it, Auburn police said

Unable to find the firearm, Auburn police called Worcester K9 Boomer, who's been trained to sniff out firearms and explosives. The alleged thief had no chance.

Boomer found the gun hidden on the property within a few minutes, and an employee was arrested and charged with theft, police said.

The perpetrator's name was not released.
